Professional Experience

Lauren established Lauren Corey Consulting, LLC in 2015, following a successful 15 year partnership in a large Maine CPA firm, where she specialized in employee benefit plans and construction firm services.  During her career she has managed significant ERISA and construction practices, has actively engaged in quality control committees and activities, and facilitated many IRS correction and consulting projects related to retirement plans. She performs concurring reviews on attest engagements and certain tax engagements for a variety of businesses and employee benefit plans, and acts as an independent ERISA audit expert for CPA firms requesting concurring review of those engagements.  Prior to public accounting, Lauren performed the roles of inventory and cost accountant for a large construction firm.

Lauren spends much of her career mentoring employees and training other professionals in the areas of audit, accounting, Internal Revenue, and ERISA matters related to employee benefit plans and the construction industry, and in the implementation of audit, review, and accounting standards related to commercial entities. Lauren educates professionals with respect to tax topics related to employee benefit plans and construction firms. Her training and presentation portfolio is available upon request.
